R. Cross is a writer from the Midwest (Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan, but mostly Ohio). She received her MFA from The University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program where she was also granted a postgraduate Zell Fellowship. Her writing has been featured in Glimmer Train, SmokeLong Quarterly, Cincinnati Review, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and elsewhere. She won first prize in Glimmer Train’s SEPT/OCT ‘18 Short Story Award for New Writers contest. She has previously taught writing at the University of Michigan and Southern Illinois University. Currently she lives in New Mexico. Her writing is represented by Renée Zuckerbrot of MMQ Lit.
